Integral Coaching -
Balancing your Life, Business & Career
Larry J. Fontana
Facilitator, Coach
Our
work together is sorting out the life-giving and life-draining
elements and identifying where and how our natural
strengths, passions and abilities are being effectively applied to our
Life and Business objectives, or not.
Once we
identify what we are most innately and naturally wired for and how we
might best communicate, observe and act in the world, we can then begin to
develop and adapt business plans and activities that stem more deeply from our inspirations,
desires, strengths and callings.
Practice,
Patience, Persistence
We have spent many years
learning to act the way we are now. It may take some time and trial and
error to unlearn and relearn. Executive Life Coaching offers you an environment
of compassionate support in which to learn, experiment, succeed and
sometimes fail. Practice, patience and persistence are a key to success,
as Napoleon Hill states in a famous quote:
"Their greatest success
came just one step beyond the point in which defeat had taken them over"
(Hill).
Strengths
vs. Weakness
Unfortunately, most of us have little
sense of our talents and strengths much
less the ability to build our
lives around them. Instead, guided by our parents, teachers, managers and
psychology's obsession with pathology, we become experts in our weaknesses
and spend our lives trying to repair these flaws while our strengths lie
dormant and neglected. - D. Clifton
That being said, this is not meant to
take away from the value of overcoming challenges and obstacles, however I view this in the same vein as the quote 'picking ones battles carefully.'
In the larger view we may be of much greater service to ourselves and others by
excelling at our strengths and talents rather than becoming mediocre at our weaknesses and
limitations.
As your facilitator, coach and advocate we will identify and untangle
these misconceptions and misguided efforts and reestablish the essence of
your clarity and enthusiasm on your journey to greatness!
The
Conative Element
The idea of Conation (instincts) is still new and cutting
edge although I
presume not for long. It is defined
as action derived from instinct; purposeful mode of striving, volition. It
can help us derive the types of opportunities, environments and situations
to best position us for success and fulfillment.
Once we can understand more clearly our
MOs (Modus Operandi) in regards to how and why we take action and what drives
us we can gain great assistance and validation in understanding our
behaviors and choices.
Language
and Listening
Language is central to the expression of the human
soul. Our deeply felt concerns and what is deeply meaningful for us is
contained in our listening. As interpretation, our listening informs
us of what is and is not possible, and how to respond to the world.
We seek to
understand ourselves as the observer and to learn to use communication as
a "creation vehicle" not simply a reporting tool.
Developing the capacity to listen to our own listening and to
intervene and shift our listening is a central aspect of true
learning. Ontological
Coaching tools such as: Assessments, Assertions, Promises and
Declarations
can greatly impact our wellness, effectiveness and success.
Truth
Loves a Witness
Last but certainly not least I offer
what may be the most compelling element of all. The absolute magic that is
often revealed through authentic inquiry and conversation with an objective
and compassionate witness.
I recall the statement that even more than being
loved, people wish to be known. On a provocative personal journey such
as Knowing Ourselves we will most assuredly uncover fundamental
questions and beliefs in regards to our Truth in the context of a greater purpose,
passion or
calling.
